BTS: Love at First Sight

Stanning BTS was like love at first sight, I think that is exactly how I would describe what it felt like the first time I saw them. I was pretty clueless as to who these seven, very handsome, maybe even beautiful men came from or who they were at the time. It was in the year 2017 when they somehow popped up on my YouTube timeline and that would be how I would become hooked on them like drug until forever.
And when I say hooked on them like drug I mean staying up until 4 am learning their names, likes and dislikes, hair colors in the past, looking at their interviews both old and new and watching all their music videos I can find. Later I would find out that is the normal process of becoming an army, but hey I do not regret any of the bags I got underneath my eyes during the first 2 months after I fell for BTS. Please don’t even let me get started on how I chose a bias.
But never the less falling for BTS was so inevitable that I cannot fathom what it would be like if I had just ignore that video and moved on with my life. It was as if they had been put in my path at just the right moment in my life and I truly believe that.
Kpop was never on my radar and honestly speaking I had never heard of kpop until BTS. I must say, boy was I missing out on ‘real’ music. The lyrical make up of BTS songs are so genuine and captivating that one does not need to know Korean to fall in love with it. Most of the time when they drop some new song or I find an old song of theirs and I listen to it, my mind becomes at ease and all my worries are washed away and that my friend is what people call ‘breaking the language barrier’ because I’ve never been so drawn to songs in other languages or even songs in English like how BTS has me around their fingers, literally.
Since becoming an Army I’ve tried out other kpop groups but none can compare to BTS (not throwing sticks and stones at anyone, please) or for the love I have for them, it’s honestly like a first love affair scenario, where no other love can ever compare. This is one of the many reasons why I know stanning BTS isn’t just a phase that “I’ll get over” it’s a phase that I’ll embrace and cherish forever.
I think I might have fallen in love at first sight when I first laid my eyes on those seven beautiful men. I have seen some people even call them the real seven wonders of the world but I soon found out BTS is more than appearance and beauty but absolutely the most caring, loving and down to earth people I know and as an army I promise to protect them forever.
